THE AFRICAN CANVAS; A VISION FOR AFRICA’S FUTURE.

Roaming through China's museums, I'm constantly awestruck by the wealth of ancient history, intertwined with the breathtaking speed of its modern development. The strides China has made, from dynastic knowledge to cutting-edge advancements, are a testament to their profound leap into the future.

Deng Xiao Ping's decision to open China's doors ushered in an era of business and technological marvels, shaping global conversations. Yet, gazing at this marvel, my heart wanders back to Africa. Having grown up there, I ponder what catalyst will propel our continent forward. Africa, abundant in youth, nature, and resources, seems stagnant, trailing in healthcare, education, and innovation.

It's a perplexing contrast. Africa's richness stands tall, yet its absence in global realms weighs heavily. Misconceptions about Africa persist, I'm often amazed to explain to educated minds in China that it's a continent of diverse nations, not a monolith of wild landscapes. Who speaks for Africa? What narrative is woven about us? I believe healing must start from within. Africa's wounds from colonial scars echo in our governance, in unequal deals struck, in concealing our vibrant cultures beneath the veil of struggling facets.

Pride, a precious essence, seems to have been chipped away through history's pains. But it's time to reclaim it. The beauty of Africa lies not just in its landscapes but in its resilience, in its untold stories, and in the treasures we've hidden for too long. Africa’s story, our narrative, isn’t just about progress; it's about reclaiming our pride, our voice, and showcasing our diverse brilliance to the world. It's time for a new chapter, one that honors our past while crafting a brighter future.

Imagine a united Africa, not merely a cluster of more than fifty countries but a collective force moving as one. What if borders opened effortlessly, granting access to markets, education, and healthcare? What if the vision of an African Union Passport became reality, empowering holders to step onto a grander stage?

Picture the ripple effect of loosened border restrictions among African nations—a cascade of change. Goods and people flow freely, prompting legislators to craft new rules, managing this surge with newfound wisdom. Learning from the EU's secure borders, African leaders benchmark, ensuring safety amidst openness. As internal trade flourishes, economies surge, and African currencies gain strength, breaking free from foreign dependencies. The exodus of our youth, seeking opportunities abroad, might cease. They could find a home within Africa, contributing talents that elevate education and create a standardized system matching neighboring standards.

Businesses, industries, and innovation flourish in this landscape. African companies, bound by limited resources and closed environments, now unleash their potential. As border restrictions ease, countless unicorns emerge, tackling real problems with ingenious solutions.

But amidst this hope, a poignant ache for home surfaces. Old friends scattered in search of answers, while our nations seem stagnant. These thoughts linger in my heart, a reflection of the collective yearning for progress in Africa.

Questions persist, why hasn't this vision taken flight? Why do our nations lag while others soar?  An Africa united, thriving, and embracing change remains a dream, an idealistic aspiration for a continent poised for transformation.

In contemplating the future of Africa, the visions, dreams, and yearnings paint a picture of possibility, resilience, and hope. Through the lens of unity, the desire for a continent unshackled by borders, restrictions, and misconceptions emerges, a yearning for an Africa that stands tall, not as disparate nations but as a formidable force.

The thoughts and idealistic notions dance with the realities of history, economics, and societal constraints. My imagination soars with the prospect of an African Union Passport, open borders, and a collective identity that transcends political divides. It's a vision of limitless potential, a canvas waiting to be painted with the vibrant hues of progress and unity.

The passionate dreams of internal trade flourishing, currencies gaining strength, and talent finding its home within Africa set the stage for a renaissance. The call for a standardized education system, innovative business landscapes, and unleashed potential echo through the reflections.

Yet, amid this hopeful expression of ideas and aspirations, a tinge of homesickness lingers, a longing for answers, a longing for progress.

The journey toward a united Africa, though riddled with complexities and challenges, remains an ongoing narrative, an impassioned quest for a brighter future. These contemplations serve as a testament to the unwavering hope that tomorrow holds the answers sought today, a beacon guiding Africa toward a destiny where unity, progress, and pride intertwine seamlessly. It's a journey fueled by dreams, yearnings, and a collective desire for an Africa that soars, leaving a legacy of unity, growth, and prosperity for generations to come.
